How Challenging Yourself on an Ongoing Basis Can Enrich Your Personal Life and Your Business
“Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.” ~ Joseph Campbell
Today I updated my autoresponder messages, changed some things around on my blog and submitted a couple articles to online directories. For those of you who do not know me well, this may not seem like a big deal but let me tell you, it’s nothing short of a miracle to me.
You see, until recently I had absolutely no technical skills whatsoever. None. If you think I am exaggerating you can ask my husband who will gladly tell you stories of how he had to help me figure out how to turn our computer on and check my email.
I had always felt intimidated by computer technology and truly believed it was something I could never master. But as you know, the network marketing world has changed quite a bit in the past few years.
About 2 years ago, I was introduced to the concept that if I learned how to use a computer I’d be able to build my business more rapidly and, better still, without ever leaving the comfort of my home. I made a decision then and there to tackle this road block.
Although no one came out and said it, I could sense that my family and friends were a little doubtful that I’d ever master using a computer. However I had set a new goal for myself and I was determined to succeed. And I did!
The lesson here is to always be on the look-out for new opportunities to grow and learn. Challenging yourself takes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to draw on inner strength you probably didn’t even know you had.
My challenge to YOU is this: Put together a personal improvement plan and list 5 small things you can do right now to move you closer to your goals. Don’t let any limitations stop you. Identify which areas need improving on, both in your personal and professional life, and commit to working on them starting today.
I hope you will leave your comments here on what your personal and professional growth plan is and keep us all informed of your progress. Through sharing our experiences we can all learn from each other. We are, I believe, much stronger together than alone.
